Screen printing has a rich history and has evolved over the years, but the elemental details of screen printing have remained the same. Below are four different types of screen printing methods:

Spot Color Printing

One of the most prominent printing forms is spot color printing. The technique uses the ink without alteration by printing through a stencil by which a very compelling color spot is produced. Additionally, depending on the mesh count and the ink used, thicker layer colors are produced. An affordable way to create artworks is achieved through spot color printing, which is also cheap when printing one to four colors.

Half-Tone Printing

In this method, one or several colors are printed in gradients. You can take one color and design it to appear in 2 or more shades. On the other hand, the tones can range from a very fine halftone to a solid spot of the same color. This printing technique is great in creating a multi-color look without incurring expenses in doing it.

Duotone Printing

This is essentially a combination of 2 halftones of the same design printed with two different colors. The first color blends with the second color to create a duotone print, which has the color hue of the second color halftone. The results are beautiful.

Color Printing

The color printing, or CMYK printing, is ideal for automatic presses because of its complexity. Although it can be manually achieved, consistent and optimum results can only be achieved on an automatic press where a full color image or photograph is broken into its four constituent colors; black, yellow, magenta, and cyan. The four colors are utilized in the process to recreate the full color and tone range.
