    October 1, 2015

    Dear Francine,

On behalf of Distress Centres, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generous support of our 18th annual B.A.D. Ride (Bikers Against Despair).

Even though the weather was not ideal for riding on Sunday, May 31st, with your support, Distress Centres still managed to raise much needed funds in the amount of $180,000. Hundres of motorcyclists came out that day, on two wheels and four, to participate in our event. As always, because of the significant contribution of our sponsors/supporters, we are proudly able to say that 100% of the dollars raised by our participating riders will go directly to support service delivery to those most in need. They have indeed been riding to answer the call! Thank you for making this possible.

Please know that your contribution is truly having an impact on the emotional well-being of our communities...every fundraised dollar has been put directly into use on behalf of our most vulnerable and at risk members. The very technology that provides the helpline services, our multi- language access and many of our new program initiatives have all been paid for by B.A.D. Ride dollars. Every minute of every day, B.A.D. Ride proceeds are working to make a difference.

The B.A.D. Ride continues to be Distress Centres' number one community outreach event. And, you have played an essential role in its success. When we say, “There’s a life on the line", we mean it. Thank you for being an essential link in our lifeline so that we can provide a lifeline for those in need. You are truly special and making a real difference!

    Yours truly,

    Karen Letofsky, C.M.

  • The Backpacks 101 Project

    September 28, 2015

    Dear Francine,

This September, three hundred children went back to school with new backpacks filled with school supplies. Thanks to your generous contribution of backpacks and water bottles, we were able to surpass our goal and fill bags for children at five different shelters and community centres in West Toronto.

The backpacks are appreciated not only by the kids but also the moms, who know that their child will have the supplies they need to start off the school year. The bags were delivered to Women's Habitat, Ernestine's Women's Habitat, Youth Without Shelter, Jean Tweed Centre and Black Creek Community Health Centre.

Thank you again for your donation,

    Monique D'Sa

Thank you for your generous contribution towards Thomas' fundraiser - as you can see, those red hats were perfect and really coordinated well with the colours of the marathon, bibs and medal - I guess you knew that already!

Although a chilly day, the team persevered and I was overheating with emotion and pride!

Such an opportunity for Thomas, he started his physio therapy yesterday and will go three times per week for many, many months!

Thanks again for your continued support and please share photos with your staff, they did a fantastic job!

On behalf of Distress Centres, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generous support of our sixteenth annual B.A.D. Ride (Bikers Against Despair). Ride day brought sunny skies and moderate temperatures, making it ideal for a motorcycle event. And, what a day it was! In total, there were more than 1200 participants that joined us who raised close to $200,000 in support of the life-sustaining and life-enhancing programs offered by our agency. As always, because of the significant contribution of our donors, we are proudly able to say that 100% of the dollars raised by our riders goes directly to support service delivery to those most in need. Girl Guides

Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!! What an awesome box to open!!!!!!!!!!!

The Girl Guide leader, just about lost her mind, when I told her your package arrived on Friday. She was so very happy!!

The girls will now be able to finish their project and complete the requirements for a badge!!! Plus, some lucky kids in some far off land will be the recipients of your wonderful generosity!!!!

My oldest (who is the guide) helped me to organize them yesterday and she was thrilled too.

I unpacked the box in the staffroom at my school and EVERY single teacher came over to ask about it. I told them about you, and what you did, and they fell in love with your company! Not to be forgotten!! I will pin up some of the cards you have given me and make sure that the Home and School gets a bunch too.

What a wonderful thing you have done!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada

A Gaily Affair 2012 was a huge success. On behalf of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) and our committee members, we want to thank you for supporting A Gusty Affair. Your contribution to our event helped make it really terrific. We raised awareness, as well as almost $17,000 toward the search for a cure for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). A packed room of young professionals came out in style, enjoying the live entertainment, a world-renowned DJ, and a fabulous silent auction and raffle.

Donors and sponsors like you were an integral part of our marketing campaign. During the event, your logos appeared on several large screens throughout the venue, as well as on the raffle and silent auction tables. A Gusty Affair website received over 7,000 hits before the event, where your logo was showcased with a link to your website. Our guests are now even better acquainted with your brand, and they know we have you to thank for our success.

The CCFC is a not-for-profit voluntary medical research foundation and a leading sponsor of Canadian IBD research. Since 1974, the CCFC has invested over $56 million to find a cure for more than 200,000 Canadians suffering from IBD. Canada has among the highest incidence of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in the world and is about three times more common in Canada than multiple sclerosis or HIV.

We appreciate your continued support in helping the CCFC find a cure for IBD. Thank you so much, and we look fonvard to working with you again for future events.

    Sincerely,
    Jenn Bell and CJ Tremblay

    Beyond Golf, It's Meaningful Play

On behalf of the Children's Aid Foundation and the children and youth we serve, we would like to personally thank you for your support of the 12th Annual Women's Golf Classic. It was a fabulous day filled with sun, pampering, and of course, golf. With your help, we raised $215,000 to fund prevention, education and enrichment programs that give vulnerable children and youth the skills and hope for a promising future.

The funds raised from your generous donation to the silent auction at the Women's Golf Classic will bridge the gap between what the government provides and what vulnerable children need to heal and become healthy adults.

There are many ways to support the Children's Aid Foundation and the work that we do through sponsorship, donation or volunteering. Please contact me to find out how you can be involved.

Once again, thank you for supporting the 2012 Women's Golf Classic and we invite you to visit the photo gallery on our event website featuring highlights of the day at http://www.cafdn.ca/womensgolf/gallery.

  • Venturing Out Beyond Our Cancer

    Venturing Out Beyond Our Cancer

On behalf of VOBOC (Venturing Out Beyond Our Cancer) I wish to extend to you our sincerest appreciation to Stitchy Lizard Embroidery & Promotional Items for your most generous donation of bandannas to be included in our Vo-Pak backpacks that are given to new adolescents and young adult patients on their first day of cancer treatment.

As a cancer patient when you lose your hair – it's hard to hide the fact that you have cancer. Sensitive to this, VOBOC set out to find a suitable head piece item to detract from a patient's bald head. Your excellent team of professionals leaped to our aid to help design and guide us to produce perfect bandannas that met all of our needs. The bright orange of the bandanas with white decorative motif compliments our lion logo, which represents the courage that it takes to battle cancer. Thanks to your generosity we've added the bandannas to our Vo-Pak backpacks. The feedback that we've received so far is very positive. The young patients love them. We've been told the bandanas are "styling and cool" and the 5 McGill University teaching hospital oncology units that VOBOC serves are seeing them everywhere. One of the nurses told us that "by wearing something flashy on their head, it allows a patient to accept the stares – they know that the stares - at least in part, are due to the fabulous prints of the bandanna."

VOBOC is a charitable organization which supports Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) by delivering free tools and resources to help patients navigate through their cancer experience. Last year VOBOC delivered over 100 Vo-Paks to oncology units to give to their new patients (15-29) who were just beginning cancer treatment and VOBOC granted over 40 last Special Requests to AYA patients in palliative care and gave away gift certificates and prizes to over 150 patients so that they could venture out beyond their cancer. In addition, VOBOC supported three retreats and conference for over 200 AYA patients. In total last year VOBOC helped and touched the lives of over 400 young patients and their families here in Montreal.

Stitchy Lizard's donation of 250 bandanas is a tremendous gesture of support for the work that we do. We are most honoured by your gift for the young AYA patients who find themselves in the battle of their lives. Please relay to the entire Stitchy Lizard team our sincerest thanks for your enthusiastic support and generosity.

    Our sincerest appreciation,

    Doreen Edward,
    Founder and President
